Bronwyn Kidd (born 1969) Is an Australian Photographer who formerly resided in London1992-2004, and now lives in Melbourne, Australia. She is known for fashion andportraiture.Kidd was born in Melbourne , her interest in photography began in high school whereshe staged dancers and models in period interiors. Transitioning to Art school, she wasintroduced to the work of Cecil Beaton, Norman Parkinson, Athol Shmith and SarahMoon all of whom influenced her work greatly. On leaving art school early she became anassistant to local fashion photographers, and in 1992 she moved to the London whereshe worked with fellow Australian Artist Polly Borland and fashion Photographer CliveArrowsmith. At 23, she was commissioned the Queens Couturier Sir Hardy Amies, whereshe shot exclusively for his Savile Row seasonal collections and advertising, using Britishmodel Paula Hamilton.A number of portraits of famed fashion designers Bella Freud, Bruce Oldfield ,(OBE),Caroline Charles and shoe designer Jimmy Choo have been on exhibition and reside inthe National Portrait Gallery London since 1998.In 2004 she moved back to Australia where she continued success in fashion and beautybased Advertising for brands like Covergirl, and portraits of iconic Australians like actressTeresa Palmer, and photographer Bill Henson.In 2016 she co- created with long time collaborator Creative director Virginia Dowzer theimage that would promote the National Gallery of Victoria’s 200 Years of AustralianFashion Exhibition.Bronwyn is at a turning point in her career in which she looks back on an extraordinary achievement in the commercial sphere and forward to her own artistic realisation.
