Brook is a New York State licensed Architect based in New York City. He graduated with a Master of Architecture with Distinction at Pratt Institute's Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Design in Brooklyn. He is a recipient of the Sidney Katz Award for Design Excellence and is a part of the Metropolis Future100 Class of 2022. He previously received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture Studies from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, where he received the Dean's Award for Academic Excellence and received an Associate of Applied Science in Architectural Technology from Madison College. He has served on various advisory and student boards at several leadership levels during his academic career. He has found leadership through mentorship to be a vital part of his architectural training. He led MentArch, a mentorship group connecting students to professionals.experienceBrook is currently an Architect and designer with SU11 Architecture + Design. At SU11, he has been designing, managing, and coordinating a number of high-end residential projects with design focused clients. He is also a Visiting Assistant Professor at Pratt Institute since Fall 2022, co-teaching M.Arch core and advanced design studios.Previously he was a designer and researcher at Terreform ONE, an architecture, urban, and material research group in the Newlab speculating on emerging technologies and their impacts on the built environment and ecosystems. The Fab Tree Hab, a terrestrial reef speculating on the future of our built environment merging with the existing ecosystem has been featured in numerous publications and has won awards such as the Fast Company Innovation by Design Award Design of the Year in Biodesign, DNA Paris Design Award, Rethinking the Future Award, and Core77 Design Award among others.Over Summer of 2021, Brook was a designer at Collaborative Architecture Laboratory (CAL) led by Gabriel Calatrava, working on various high-profile projects at differing scales.Brook has four years of designer experience working at Kahler Slater in Milwaukee, collaborating on competitions, masterplans, and projects. Some key projects are the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Center, Brookfield Conference Center Sculpture, University of Tennessee School of Dentistry, and various higher education and athletic masterplans and projects. During his time at Kahler Slater, Brook led numerous stewardship initiatives alongside skill workshops for the firm.
