It’s interesting the skills that being the leader of a nonprofit women’s group will equip a person with. In this case, that someone is me! This, in concert with participating as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America, engaging with children as a paraprofessional, and unwittingly becoming the bookkeeper and tax expert for our family deejay business for over twenty years, among other roles and experiences, has equipped me with sharpened capabilities and strengths. Each role I have played in the workforce and as a volunteer has honed my interpersonal skills, enabled me to become a positive team member, and armed me with effective communication. Teamwork has taught me to take feedback and direction well and handle sensitive information with discretion. The glue that holds these capabilities together is that I’m organized and able to adapt easily using problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly. Now I look forward to being a motivated and results-driven member of my next team!
