Assisted with grant proposals (methods and figures) to achieve funding and with writing and editing of articles for peer-reviewed journals.

Studied signal transduction pathways (Ca2+, cAMP) in pulmonary endothelial cells. Advanced training in molecular techniques and protein biochemistry. Trained incoming lab researchers, technicians and students with techniques in molecular biology.

Studied streptococcal surface proteins (virulence factors) and their genes. Trained in basic molecular/biochemical techniques and methods such as PCR, SDS-PAGE, immunoblotting, Southern/Northern blotting and recombinant protein over-expression in prokaryotic systems.
