I used to work 6 days a week from 3pm til 10pm and would have one (sometimes two if I was lucky) other staff member on with me and some unexpected evenings we would service 80-100 orders whilst maintaining a great level of service. When I applied for this job I put down that I wanted to work as a cook, however the youth church minister I had written down as a reference told the hiring person that I was great with people and very very nice so I ended up getting put on the front counter. Serving on a very busy front counter with high pressure to fill orders very quickly during rush hours taught me to keep my cool and stay on whilst being yelled at as a first job was crazy upon reflection. Other jobs included making burgers, making potato and gravy from scratch all within a small time limit.. I did end up working in the kitchen and making chicken on demand and maintaining deep fryers is rough work, the quality of the product was based on this process and would make or break entire shifts if not maintained properly.On top of being busy we had to fill the fridges, clean the restaurant and because of the times, weren't allowed to go until it was done at the end of the night. I learned to think ahead and plan and liase with other staff to complete jobs on time through this and also serving customers, packing orders to a process was a great learning experience. Show less
