The USAG-RP DES is the largest in IMCOM with a diverse staff of over 1,000 that includes Soldiers, GS employees, local nationals and contractors. The DES supports 26 installations with 6 fulltime fire/medical/HAZMAT response stations, 4 dispatch centers, fire prevention inspectors, law enforcement patrols/operations, MP investigations, physical security, and 38 gate access control points. The USAG-RP DES also coordinates multiple mayors and with German and Air Force emergency service organizations in support of daily operations, mutual aid for major events as well as partnered training. Oversees the programming and execution of an annual budget over $29 million.

As the NATO Forensic Director for Afghanistan, successfully oversaw the operation of three Joint Expeditionary Forensics Facilities (JEFF), playing a critical role in ensuring all US, NATO and Afghan-partnered units operating throughout Operation Enduring Freedom received timely forensics support related to the examination and exploitation of latent fingerprint, firearms, chemical & tool marks, as well as DNA evidence collected as a result of insurgent events. Over 5,000 cases in the three laboratories were processed as the JEFF Director, yielding critical intelligence results. Also partnered with the Afghanistan Ministry of Interior (MoI) in the highly complex development of the forensic program in order to build evidence based operations for the government of Afghanistan. The critical elements of this mission has included the standing-up a fully functional Afghan forensic academy & laboratory; coordination of five Afghan regional forensic laboratories; funding for one year of OJT mentorship; the newly documented positions of hundreds of Afghan National Police forensic examiners; and the system in which the MoI will fund these new laboratories.

Engaged in the establishment of a unified, democratic, federal Iraq designed to self-govern, defend itself and realize sustainment as an ally in the War on Terrorism. Engaged in the strategic implementation of the mission in changing the focus for US military to help Iraqis clear and secure neighborhoods, protect the local population and ensure that Iraqi forces left behind were capable of providing proper security measures.
