A career doing what you love to do and are good at it is indeed a life of blessing. I have worked with colleagues, customers, corporations large and small and have learned something every day of my life.My work has taken me around the World many times and each trip (over 5 million miles worth) has been an exercise in physical stamina, mental resilience and maintaining the outward appearance that wherever I was, was exactly where I wanted to be. Early career assignments as Worldwide sales management for Xerox and Digital Equipment Corporation accounts afforded me the opportunity to operate within the organizational structure of Fortune 50 corporations. Then 20 years of working and consulting for smaller corporations/companies creating international subsidiaries, reorganizing and managing local country operations day to day, and starting companies from the ground up. These companies included Instron Corporation, Transparent Language, Gensym Corporation, Wilson TurboPower, Barbour Stockwell Inc. The greatest challenge was always working within the cultural and ethnic boundaries of each Country and building strong personal relationships of trust, respect and understanding. I consider myself most fortunate to have had these opportunities. Since retirement from work for remuneration, I have kept extraordinarily occupied doing pro bono work such as guest lecturing on international business, mentoring international college students, non profit organizational leadership. Also a cottage business of crafting walking and hiking sticks for sale and gifting.
