As a CA (Community Assistant) my responsibilities include building a residential community through programming and events that encourage student Meaning-Making & foster a sense of belonging amongst residents. In my role I act as a mentor for students, being a familiar first resource for students with academic or institutional questions, and promoting residential and university housing policies.

Responsibilities include creating a system by which college news and accomplishments can be collected and shared via social media platforms in a way that is accessible to a variety of audiences including parents, student, alumni and other stakeholders. More specifically, other responsibilities include :-Procuring content from college representatives and create a schedule of social media posts-Communicate with those featured in posts to gather headshots, social media handles, and other information needed for the post.-Write professional and engaging content to accompany the post.-Create attractive visualizations for posts, as needed.-Collaborate with the CHSS Media Specialist to gather photo and video for posts and stories.-Communicate with followers via comments and messaging on all platforms.-Become familiar with campus offices and units that could be tagged in posts.-Initiate contests and other engaging content in an effort to build following on all platforms.

Mentors provide guidance, advice, feedback, and support to the mentee, serving as a positive role model throughout the Champ/Gear Up program. Responsibilities include:-Creating workshops for mentees designed to promote mental and intellectual growth. -Providing encouragement and assisting the mentee in identifying professional development activities.-Foster a mentoring relationship.-Expand college and career options.-Increase academic achievement.-Build character and self-esteem.

As a Youth Leadership Ambassador I received training and mentorship in Civic engagement and educational policy and provided input and ideas to inform WRNJ Coalition's Advocacy agenda. I worked with a team of my peers to develop social media campaigns that encourage young people ages 18-25 to vote and surveys to gather research on the digital divide on a national level to help Inform the work of WRNJ. In my role I was selected to represent our team in WRNJ statewide digital divide webinar where I shared my experience and provided possible solutions to close the digital divide.
