Bruce has been the CFO of Hartmann-Vitamed, a supplier of medical devices and healthcare products in southern Africa, since May 2018. He practices a hands on approach to leading an established finance team and is actively involved in essential aspects of the business. Besides financial reporting, Bruce is responsible for product costing and pricing, tender management, BBBEE strategy and compliance, Income Tax matters, Risk Reporting as well as oversight of the HR department. Prior to joining Hartmann-Vitamed, Bruce was CFO of Esor Limited. A JSE listed construction contractor which specialises in bulk water infrastructure projects, township developments and other civil engineering projects in sub-Saharan countries. He was responsible for consolidation of up to 20 entities in the group and all Financial reporting, including Annual Reports and Interim results which were in accordance with JSE Listings Requirements as well as IFRS and Companies Act. As CFO he sat on the Main Board of Directors as well as attended and presented to various sub committees which included the Audit & Risk Committee, the Remuneration and Nominations Committee as well as the Social & Ethics Committee. Other functions and responsibilities included Monthly contract accounts reviews, Tender approvals, Strategic planning, Cash Flow management, Budgeting, Tax Management, Internal Audit, BBBEE strategy and compliance, managing relationships with external parties such as banks, insurers, auditors, customers and suppliers. Bruce is a strong finance professional with Bachelor of Accounting Sciences from UNISS, a BCom Honours (Accounting) from University of KwaZulu-Natal and is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA). He has advanced Excel skills and a solid working knowledge of various accounting and BI packages. He has a broad knowledge of various aspects of business including HR, IT systems as well as applicable legislation. He enjoys keeping up to date with current affairs. In his spare time he spends time with his family and keeps active playing tennis, golf and mountain biking, having competed in a number of one day and multi-day cycling events.
