About Bruce Bjorge
I am a fire service professional with over 35 years of fire service experience. I am a veteran who was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force as a Fire Protection Specialist and served during Operation Desert Shield/Storm from 1988 to 1992. I have a wide range of training and experience which provides me with a unique ability to work with a wide range of job requirements. My experience includes 15 years as a Chief Officer, 25+ years as an EMT, 20+ years as a Hazardous Materials Technician, 25+ years as an Aircraft Rescue Firefighter.Teaching/Instructing has always been my passion. I enjoy any opportunity to present at conferences, fire schools, and other fire service events. I have had the opportunity to speak at numerous state, regional, and national conferences. My personal goals are to continue my own professional growth through the continued pursuit of education personally and to find at least one opportunity each day to share my training and experience. By doing so, I hope to help the fire service continue to grow and to leave the fire service better than I found it.

My primary responsibility is managing the Institute's mobile Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) program. This program travels to civilian, private, and military airports to provide initial ARFF training and also annual refresher training in over 20 states annually. I also oversee the Institute's other live-fire training programs including mobile structure fire, exterior props including car, dumpster, residential LP and bobtail LP tank props and others.
