My background and skills are diverse, including legal, financial, accounting, programming, game development, animations and manufacturing experience, with formal education in accounting, finance and the law. My more traditional experience ranges from cost analysis, database queries, cost accounting, managing and legal consulting. Yes, I did pass the bar and appeared in court on numerous occasions, but mostly I helped people incorporate, buy or sell businesses and deal with financial contract matters. During my accounting years, I was the go-to person for spreadsheet programs like Excel (especially macros and VBA), SQL queries, database mining and financial reporting. I have been a financial analyst, a product analyst, a plant accountant and a corporate controller.My career included owning several businesses where I managed all aspects of the enterprise. During my professional and entrepreneurial ventures, I supervised salaried, clerical and production workers. Consequently, I understand the diverse demands of management.To supplement my practical experience, I taught at several colleges, including Grand Valley University. As an adjunct, my teaching included traditional cost and management accounting. I was also one of two site leaders during SAP implementation at Sun Chemical Company, training both office and factory workers. That training included creating an extensive cookbook type manual with instructions tailored to specialized user groups – like engineering, accounting and clerical workers. My background covers a range of industries including chemical processing, pigment production, defense contractors producing missiles and rockets, office furniture production, oil drilling, health care services and automotive parts manufacturing.
