I have taken on numerous projects and leadership roles during my time with LGMC up to and including my present position of Medical PCU Clinical Nurse Coordinator. I took on this position as I was eager to get back into a Management role. With this position, I am responsible for the every day duties associated with running a PCU totaling 30 beds as well as the management of the staff during the night shift. In the short time that I have been in this role, I have been able to spearhead efforts that have brought about increased efficiencies and accountabilities in a number of areas such as documentation and bedside reports that continue to help improve nursing metrics when compared to other units in the hospital as well as improve patient satisfaction. I continue to serve as a resource throughout the hospital as well in terms of difficult IV insertions, responding to Rapid Responses, Code Blues, and Stroke Alerts. As such, I am current on both ACLS and BLS certifications.

My actual times worked in this capacity are March 2017 to August 2019 and May 2020 to October 2020. This was the first role that I took on with LGMC and one that I came back to later on. Being in the Resource Pool allowed me to go anywhere in the Market to help with immediate shortfalls or bottlenecks (especially those of a critical nature) whether it be ED, Rehab, Med Surg, PCU, or ICU. Having the skills and qualifications that allowed me to work in any of these areas also made it easier to respond for other reasons such as difficult IV insertions, Rapid Responses, Code Blues, etc. I continued to stay in this role on a PRN basis when I went to work for the Salem VA Medical Center.

As noted above, I have taken on numerous projects and leadership roles during my time with LGMC up to and including the position of Critical Care Manager. In the Manager role, I was responsible for the everyday duties and management (including scheduling, payroll, education, etc.) associated with running three ICU units totaling 36 beds and 105 staff members. Also during this time I participated in a Diabetes Task Force that was able to bring about changes in policy and in application that has seen an improvement in patient diabetic management. I participated in a CHF Task Force for LGMC and spearheaded efforts on the Critical Care side designed to improve patient outcomes by designing and implementing processes that brought about better accountability for and improvement to certain nurse metrics. I served as the point of contact for multiple Critical Care vendors including LifePoint. In this role I organized and participated in multiple organ donations as well as the setup and implementation of multiple Honor Walks. With the reduction in patients seen during the initial ramp up of the Covid pandemic, this position was dissolved and I chose to go back into the Resource Pool.
