My work experience was primarily in foundation construction and concrete formwork. Although I worked as an apprentice for the better part of my time with PCL, prior to returning to Engineering, I was promoted to Carpenter Foreman. As such I had the following responsibilities: • Plan schedule and complete the work of carpentry tasks related to the construction of commercial and institutional buildings• Interpret construction drawings and complete layout for foundation, bearing walls, anchor bolts, etc.• Use total station and other survey equipment to accurately lay out grid lines, points of interest, etc.• complete material take-offs for concrete, formwork, scaffolding, etc.
