After joining Texas International Airlines as head of Passenger Quality Control, Marcus was hired as the Start-Up Project Manager for New York Air, the first airline approved for operation after industry deregulation in 1980. Bruce managed the successful start-up in a period of 4 months, compared to previous industry start-ups which took years to accomplish. Bruce was also sent to Continental Airlines to learn all customer service functions and then oversee training of NY Air employees. After start-up, Bruce was promoted to SVP of Customer Service, managing over 800 ticket counter, reservations and flight attendant personnel.
