Also successfully led coal power plant Impact Assessment team. Worked with outstanding team of international experts who often disagreed and patiently worked through a number of very complex and difficult issues developing a long-term plan for mining, support, environmental and social operations. Also served as a key member of Bre-X due diligence team. All permits were secured ahead of schedule and no construction delays resulted.Senior Environmental and Public Relations Manager (150 direct reports), Jakarta Indonesia 1994-1996Served as company-wide spokesperson and permitting lead for proposed $1 billion expansion. Successfully obtained all provisions, despite some opposition, to expand operations to 300,000 tons per day, more than 7-fold production increase.
