Lifeguard
I took part in camp american for 2 summers. It was the most amazing summers of my life so far. I feel l learned so much about myself and really matured in the space of 12 weeks. I had never taught swim or been a lifeguard till i arrived at URJ Eisner camp. l was literally thrown in at the deep end, had 2 weeks to learn how to save someones life if the event was to ever occur on my watch. i had no idea what i had got myself into but i believed in myself and took the job very seriously. I had to adapt my previous coaching experience into a new environment, to ensure these kids walked away learning something new or developing there skills. Traveling for the first time ever without the guidance of my parents was a daunting task i knew i couldn't just hop on a bus and go home if times where hard. By the end of my experience i was able to organise myself a once and a life time road trip through California. walk away with memories for a lifetime.
