I am currently serving as the Systems Development and Reporting Lead for East Coast College. Within this role, I am tasked with leading a team of three in the development and implementation of the college’s information systems and databases, aligning with our system and reporting strategies. I have nearly 17 years of experience working at Coleg Cambria, during which I consistently advanced in my role, assuming greater responsibilities over time. Whilst working full time I also completed a BSc (Honours) degree in Computing and IT from the Open University.My approach to work is professional, demonstrating a proactive attitude and the ability to work independently, as evidenced by my successful experience working fully remote in my current position.I am adept at using my initiative and require minimal supervision. Furthermore, I am aware that the landscape of business is dynamic, continuously evolving, and I am highly receptive to new ideas and opportunities for further training.I was among the initial staff members to be seconded to Deeside College prior to the merger with Yale, ultimately forming Coleg Cambria. During this period, I held the responsibility of submitting the Deeside LLWR funding return, highlighting my competence and reliability.As a Systems Analyst at Coleg Cambria for a period of five years, I made significant contributions towards the advancement of the college. Specifically, I played a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing existing systems, while introducing innovative and cost-effective solutions to minimise paper, printing, and postage expenses. By automating various tasks throughout the college, I successfully streamlined the conversion of confirmed student placements on GCSE results day into active enrolments, substantially reducing the number of students required to physically visit the campus during the busy main enrolment days. This initiative alleviated the manual enrolment burden on the MIS department, enabling tutors to allocate more time to students requiring additional assistance.I am proficient at problem-solving, enabling me to transform ideas into practical implementations. A notable accomplishment in this regard is my development of an automated process, initiated in 2015, to deliver A-level, GCSE, and BTEC exam results to recipients via email on the day of release. Taking sole responsibility for the smooth operation of this process, I ensure its success by arriving at work promptly at 6 am. This pioneering approach was acknowledged as sector-leading in the recent Estyn report on the college.
