As a Solution Manager my primary responsibilities included:- • Leadership of the team developing the solution• Development and management of solution strategy • Stakeholder Management and achieving business objectives• Negotiation with sub-contractors on their Statement of Work,• Identification of the Dependencies, Assumptions, Risks and their associated costs• Production of MS Project plans and detailed cost models• Contribution to the Proposal content• Advising the Bid Manager of budgets, governance levels and the duration for bid activities• Governance of the solution and costs – presenting the solution and resolving internal objections• Customer presentations of the high level solution and its negotiations • Review of other’s bids, their solution and the costsSome of my key achievements have been:• Realignment of a solution to improve strategic positioning• Support of the Customer’s business case and timeline• Negotiation of internal offerings to enable adaption to meet the Customer requirement• Timely delivery of a complex bespoke bid at the agreed price to win• Negotiated brand protection with sub-contractor support• Innovative solutions to reduce costs• Introduced a Face-to-Face service desk with a booking system to reduce peak resource costs• Negotiated bounding statements in the contract to minimise risk and to protect margin• Challenged the company ‘estimating norms’ and introduced staffing efficiencies Customers have included MoD, Home Office, Worcester County Council, Norfolk County Council and AECOM - a Civil Engineering firm.

Whilst working as a Solution Lead in EDS I lead the solutioning teams on over £880m of deals. Many deals involved managing significant subcontractor components and their associated Statement of work. Customer included MoD, GCHQ, and the Home Office.• Customer presentations of the high level solution and its negotiations • Production of initial pricing estimates and managing cost targets for HPE and Partners/Subcontractors • Driving HPE and sub-contractors to provide their most competitive solution • Negotiation with sub-contractors on their Statement of Work, targets, prices, assumptions, dependencies and risks• Review of other’s bids, their solution and the costs

Responsible for the management of four sub-programmes and three projects – c 270 staff and £40m turnover. The portfolio of services delivered offered a rich diversity of integrated applications on a deployed infrastructure for the MoD. Developed an understanding of customer strategies to enable balanced and informed priority decisions across delivery and future changes. Promoted a high level of change management to continually improve the success of the programme. Restructured the teams into matrix technical areas rather than projects to enable improved sharing of SMEs. Managed the on-going service delivery and ensured successful gate reviews of new releases to maintain service quality. Responsible for the combined finance and resource demands for the programme. Created a change proposal team to improve focus and response to Customer requests. Monitored and prioritised proposals, including their forecast demand on future resourcing. Applied a mix of PRINCE and PMP methodologies to the delivery approach.• Developed strong customer relationships resulting in a strong pipeline (35% growth) of funded change• Tightened Project management practices, particularly around planning, progress monitoring and forecasting• Introduced a consistent approach to testing and the quality of Configuration management across all underlying projects• Managed to maintain deadlines despite the delivery challenges from Urgent Operational Requirements
