Bruce is a CEO and board director with multi-national sales and marketing experience in consumer products, technology, and industrial products. He has expertise in turning around company performance and experience serving on corporate, industry and non-profit boards.He is President and CEO of Berkshire Blanket & Home Co, the largest designer and importer of consumer blankets in the U.S. Previously, he served as Industry Partner with Cordova, Smart and Williams where he provided operational guidance to this private equity firm’s portfolio companies. Prior to that, he was President, CEO and Director of Steinway & Sons, the world-wide manufacturer of pianos. Under his leadership, the company’s sales grew from $62 million to $235 million. He was a key player in Steinway’s successful 1996 IPO. He led Steinway’s expansion of operations into Japan and China and led a dramatic change in company culture to one of empowerment and a focus on customer satisfaction.Previously, he was President of Robert Williams Inc., a manufacturer of specialty plastic films, and held several sales and marketing positions with Polaroid Corp, including Director of Marketing for all international consumer products. He lived in Tokyo for 3 years overseeing their Japanese subsidiary.Bruce is a Board Director of Berkshire Blanket and of Collectors’ Universe (NASDAQ), a leading 3rd-party authenticator and grader of high-value collectibles, where he is Chairman of the Nominating / Governance Committee and member of the Audit Committee. He was a Trustee of the Manhattan School of Music and was Chairman of Trustees & Nominations Committee. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of Steinway Musical Instruments (NYSE). He is past President of the Piano Manufacturers Association International. He was selected as recipient of the prestigious Music Trades’ “Person of the Year” Award in 2006. Bruce holds an Executive Masters Professional Director Certificate, Silver Level, from the ACCD.
