Bruce Walker is responsible for managing and oversight of Big Thicket Association programs. Bruce is responsible for all areas of development including grant writing, fundraising, and membership. Big Thicket Association programs include: The Neches River Adventures eco-tours and outdoor studies, supporting the publications of the Temple Inland Series of Big Thicket Books, and fundraising events like the BTA Neches River Rally (1st Annual coming September 6, 2014), and our All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory/Thicket of Diversity. General Manager of Media Sales Office in Beaumont after years of travel that included Houston, The Woodlands, Conroe, Lufkin, Nacogdoches, & Tyler. Developed cable advertising plans for various cable systems, wrote television scripts, and directed video production shoots. In Beaumont, I was responsible for managing the area Media Sales Offices for cable advertising in addition of launching new advertising products & developing advertising packages, promotions, and events.. I was responsible for overseeing the complete recover, of our Beaumont office, after two major Hurricanes that completely knocked out cable service in the area for extended periods of time. I received several awards including Top Texas Manager of the Year, I received a top distinction award from the Cable Advertising Bureau after Hurricane Rita. I won many statewide Texas Sales Contests that included cash and travel awards (Yea!).. I enjoyed many happy and rewarding years in an industry that I was able see develop and grow over the years.
