While attending Queen Margaret University studying Nutrition and Food Science (Bsc hons), I completed my honours project which focused on analysing the attitudes of consumers towards plant based foods and the current surge in popularity of such products and subsequently gained a second class degree (upper division). I began working as a Quality Control Technician for Macphie of Glenbervie, working across multiple quality laboratories in a variety of food production environments, I was able to gain experience of both advanced and analogue testing methods, developing an understating of a range of theory’s behind food quality and safety. Having the opportunity to progress within the company, I am now working with the Quality Systems team to manage quality systems across the supply chain, ensuring food safety and quality as well as reviewing responsible sourcing, dietary certification programs and acting as a point of contact for suppliers and various auditing bodies.
