Managed the controls upgrade to the #4 Sag mill, (Semi Autogenous Grinding), one of the world’s largest mills, 36’diaX17’long.It’s powered by 16,000hp variable speed motor. Grinds up to 2450 tons of ore per hour. Reduces size of crushed ore to less than 5/8” size and sends to ball mill and cyclones for further grinding. The upgrade included:• Installation of new motor control centers.• Installation of new Siemens PLC and field instrumentation for control and monitoring.• Installation of various support systems, air gap monitoring, speed sensors, etc..Managed the development of:• Project The execution plan PEP• The project budget and schedule• Change orders• EVM for tracking progress• RFQ /P.O.’s for hardware and subcontractor support
