Bruce Callander is the Executive Vice President of Hub International Insurance Brokers and has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry. Joining Sweet and Baker in 1991, Mr. Callander became president a few years later increasing the agency organic growth over ten fold in 20 years. In addition, Sweet and Baker became listed in the San Francisco Business Times Top 25 Largest Insurance Brokerages in the Bay Area for 11 years. In 2016, Sweet and Baker merged with Hub International to continue their growth in the community.Mr. Callander is active in the San Francisco non-profit community. Currently he is serving on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco, and was Chairman of the Board for three years.. Previously, he served on the Boards of: Katherine Delmar Burke School, The Guardsmen, The University Club of San Francisco, and BRAVO! CLUB of The San Francisco Opera. Mr. Callander is also the founder/ sponsor of the San Francisco Insurance Academy. Starting in 2015, their mission is to make a life-changing difference to lower income/employable adults to learn about and provide them a career in the insurance industry. To date, the Academy has moved 29 individuals and families from welfare to middle class Mr. Callander is a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder, with a degree in Economics, including an emphasis in Computer Science.
