Later transferred to the Systems Group and was solely responsible for all IBM System/36 hardware located at corporate headquarters and in all thirteen regional offices located around the country. Projects included the consolidation of three regional office data centers into one, thereby significantly reducing overhead and operating expenses for these offices. I also participated in the design and implementation of an “Information Center” that included a computer training lab, individual “self-directed” training cubicles, a Novell network with gateway connections to both the corporate IBM System/36 and the IBM 4381 mainframe computers, and a connection to the corporate satellite uplink.
