I’ve been advocating for a safer and more peaceful planet—including climate security—for decades working in government, business, and nonprofit organizations. Now my first novel, Crows Calling, has been accepted for publication in September 2025 by Greenleaf Press. A climate novel, Crows Calling follows a California family with a mystical daughter, as they navigate the impacts and implications of environmental change—and join forces with a group of “planimals” trying to save their own habitats from destruction. The story is informed by an abiding connection with the natural world and my experience living and working with people of color, diverse sexual orientations, and too often undervalued female colleagues and friends. I am excited to bring readers into the beauty and oneness of creation at this critical time in the history of our species.
