Lecturer in creative Food & Drink Writing to international students attending the University of Gastronomic Sciences. I teach various topics, including finding your voice as a writer, finding work as a writer and working in the sector or/as a freelancer, food writing techniques and wine and drink writing. As a food and drink writer I am interested in sharing stories of people and ingredients from the farmer and the field to farmers' market to cooking at home and dining out. I have a special interest in citrus fruits and combine this with travel writing. You'll also find me managing Penshurst Farmers' Market in west Kent and building up my food business, currently focused on citrus-based sauces and marmalades ... with much more to come. Moving to Piedmonte in northern Italy to study for Masters in Food Culture, Communications & Marketing has been an extremely valuable experience. The course followed a multidisciplinary approach drawing in a wide range of topics from managing global food systems and marketing artisanal, small scale high quality products to global issues of sustainability, migration and food waste. While a student I actively contributed to many extra-curriculum activities including writing and photography for the student newsletter 'UNISG Table', and followed an extra-curriculum course in ceramics with my pieces appearing in an exhibition in the town’s museum.
