Excerpts have been recognized in the Monthly Muse, the Sunshot Prose Contest, and a chapter was nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Responsible for identifying and cultivating partnerships with tribes, tribal businesses, federal and state partners and the tourism industry to help develop and promote tribal tourism. Oversees strategic planning for outreach to increase access and sustainable participation in state and federal state programs and funding opportunities for American Indians, Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians engaged in cultural and recreational tourism programming and initiatives on and adjacent to Native lands. Responsibilities include supervisory duties, implementing and overseeing a departmental budget and creating and meeting specific departmental goals. Held position as a Graphic Designer at a full service advertising and marketing agency with offices in Sacramento and San Francisco. Responsible for the design and production of materials used for retail, corporate and national marketing efforts. Involved in the creative process for major campaigns utilizing print, radio and television advertising. Clients included Tower Records, Fujitso USA, and Northern California Oldsmobile.

Worked part-time as a freelance artist and copy writer in the Sacramento and San Francisco Bay Area markets. Clients included Seraphein Beyn, Inc., Runyan Saltzman, Dick Pike Illustration Design, Shell Oil Company, and CHASE/Clark Credit Company.

Was responsible for all creative and copy writing for an in-house advertising department. Held position as Graphic Designer and was later promoted to Creative Director/Account Executive. Designed print material and newspaper layouts for a large west coast automobile dealer network. Worked with dealership owners to develop and implement a series of direct mail programs. Responsible for tracking results of all advertising.

Held the position as Graphic Artist for an advertising agency that specialized in full color corporate brochure work. Designed and produced projects for corporate identity campaigns. Clients included CalFarm Insurance, AeroJet, and Pacific Rice Co-op. Directed a team of freelance artists and independent vendors.

Worked at a camp at Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, that provided support to the Tran Alaska Pipeline. Sailed as an Able Seaman on several Arctic projects, and worked on the docks as a longshoreman. Later sailed from Jacksonville, Florida, to Lake Charles, Louisiana, to San Juan, Puerto Rico, then across the Atlantic to Nigeria Africa and back to the United States.
