As Manager of Infrastructure Security & Emergency Preparedness, his responsibilities include managing security operations, strategic security planning, and emergency preparedness. He supervises a staff of infrastructure protection and emergency preparedness professionals that provide corporate wide physical security and safety to employees, facilities, and assets.Bruce successfully executes NV Energy’s security strategy by proactively identifying and mitigating risks. He believes that the role of security is to act as a change agent. Security can no longer just enforce security standards; it is our job to also change the culture of our organization so that everyone accepts responsibility for security risks. Security is not law enforcement, its key purpose is to proactively prevent and mitigate risks, not just respond to events after they occur. While at NV Energy, Bruce integrated the role of security with emergency preparedness and business continuity to assist business leaders to effectively manage risk. His team provides value to the organization by reducing risk and liability through the implementation and training of standardized incident specific procedures. NV Energy’s security team places a high degree of focus on the protection of our employees. Workplace violence continues to be a growing concern, and as a result NV Energy conducted an Active Shooter Table Top Exercise. In order to mitigate the risks identified from the exercise, we developed and delivered security awareness training to all employees that focused on how to respond to an Active Shooter incident. We also partnered with the METRO Police Department to conduct a joint Active Shooter Exercise in one of our facilities.

Provided professional management of Human Rresources to NV Energy by serving as a true business partner to internal clients and human resource groups (Benefits, Compensation, Labor, & Records). This involved assisting business leaders in achieving critical outcomes by providing results-oriented human resource programs, policies, services, and practices.

Performed complex and sensitive administrative, organizational design, performance measurement, and related analyses for the County Manager and/or Board of Commissioners programs and activities. Responsible for providing planning, facilitation, and other organization development services for multiple County agencies, such as the Office of Emergency Management (OEM), and the Clark County Fire Department (CCFD), Department of Family Services.
