BenMedica is developing tools to help health plans, PBMs and other payers optimize their investments in the electronic network. Improving communication through succinct and accurate information enables payers to improve health outcomes and reduce healthcare costs.

Manage e-Prescribing operations and strategic partner for leveraging the "e-channel" at CVS Caremark.• Lead the development of electronic prior authorization (ePA) within CVS Caremark as well as helped lead the national standard through NCPDP.• Building and strengthening the e-prescribing foundations for CVS Caremark through internal stakeholders, Surescripts, NCPDP (standards organization), and vendor relationships.• Developed and/or enhanced new/existing standards to leverage internet enabled prescribers. Project manager for the MedsInfo product and e-prescribing subject matter expert for PocketScript, one of the original e-prescribing vendors. • Worked with all facets of the ZixCorp organization to develop and strengthen client relationships. Responsibilities included improving the PocketScript product offering, business development, and application support (both business and technical aspects).• Project Manager for Massachusetts Health Data Consortium’s MedsInfo-ED pilot (http://www.mahealthdata.org/ma-share/projects/medsinfo.html) which was the first project in the United States to deliver real-time patient prescription medication history from multiple data sources to emergency department physicians.• Drug, Formulary, and Pharmacy subject matter expert for PocketScript regarding client, product and support questions. Also responsible for enhancing PocketScript based on workflow and clinical needs of both its users and business partners.

Responsible for increasing mail order utilization, improving generic and formulary utilization by leveraging the Point of Care channel via electronic prescribing.• Active within the Surescripts (formerly RxHub) participant groups to promote e-prescribing and develop base line expectations for vendors. • Helped develop and improve numerous baseline e-prescribing transactions, such as co-pay, the precursor for e-prescribing certification and- reporting standards• Client advisor and support for first eRx initiative: eRxCollaborative in Massachusetts and other programs to promote and subsidize e-prescribing when it was in its infancy.• Brought attention in mail pharmacy operations to review the e-prescribing opportunity as well as the technical and regulatory hurdles.
