Since I was a child, science has fascinated me. I was always questioning the reason for things and looking for the answer. Thus, a degree in the field of Genetics and Biotechnology came naturally and quite organically. In the last year of my degree, I discovered the potential of combining informatics and biology, which led me to do a Master's degree in Bioinformatics. It was undoubtedly a very challenging decision. In two years, I learned to program and had contact with different programming languages ​​(python, R, MATLAB). Additionally, I learned concepts from several areas such as statistics, machine learning, NGS, metabolic models and systems optimization.After five years in areas that are mainly related to the study of DNA or RNA, I decided to take a postgraduate degree in Agronomy. This decision was made, because of my curiosity and willingness to explore different areas, that in my understanding are interconnected and will complement my initial training. During the last two years, I worked as a researcher in a Bioinformatics group, where I deepened my knowledge in NGS.
