Research topics include : adding 'traffic engineering' tools in the path setup for Sensor Networks. These tools could provide the end nodes with a set of paths that is optimalised according to some criteria. e.g. a set of paths that minimise the delay, a set of paths that makes the energy consumption of the nodes as even as possible, a set of paths that avoid the regions prone to interference .... The end nodes could distribute traffic over multiple paths so as to increase the robustness of the connections or even enhance the bandwidth for a service.
