With a core passion for Structural Engineering, my journey has equipped me with a broad understanding of some of the main trends and challenges in this area, which include aging structures, seismic design, and the quest for efficient/optimized solutions.I've had the opportunity to gather diversified international experience, including projects in Europe, Africa, and South America.Having started working in this field in 2006, my experience has taken me through different paths that enriched my skill set. Initially working on projects for commercial, residential, and office buildings, I developed my knowledge in new and existing concrete structures. The main challenges here involve achieving cost-effective solutions for our clients, while working intensively with a host of different stakeholders, from designers to project developers and contractors, with a great concern about reaching our clients' goals.Later on, set to diversify areas of expertise, I decided to focus on steel structures in industrial settings, especially in the Automotive Industry. This has provided me with new perspectives regarding the goals of our clients. New challenges were brought to the table because, on top of the regular requirements, other restrictions arise, from small, fixed construction calendars to ensuring no interference with production lines, to a plethora of technical infrastructures that have to be tightly coordinated. Dealing with aging structures and maintenance requirements also became a daily focus, acquiring skills in structural inspections and non-destructive testing, developing fatigue analysis in steel elements, and creating and executing Maintenance and Inspection Plans for industrial structures.Parallel to this, I became passionate about team development and helping my colleagues to grow professionally and continuously improve as skilled engineers. I love to pass on my knowledge, and I've come to realize that new workers are also a source of new learning opportunities, having had many chances to learn with new interns as well.I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to optimize the world, striving to attain the most favorable results while minimizing the use of resources. I have an eco-conscious approach to our existence, and I believe that structural engineering plays a very important role in that.
