J. Bryan Boyd is a Litigation Attorney and Legal Educator in the State of North Carolina. He has over 15 years of experience as both a full-time professor and an administrator to two law schools. He has taught over 1500 law students on a variety of courses on the topics of legal research and writing, pretrial litigation, appellate and trial advocacy, criminal law, and criminal procedure. In addition to his civil litigation practice and his many years of teaching, he served as the Clerk of the Supreme Court of North Carolina. He was the 15th person to hold this office since the establishment of the Supreme Court of North Carolina in 1818-19. Prior to that appointment, he served as the Associate Dean for Administration and Student Development and as a professor at Liberty University School of Law. Additionally, he served as an Assistant Professor of Law at Campbell University School of Law for 13 years. In his time at Campbell, he served in a variety of roles, including Director of the Professional Skills Program, and as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. As a professor, he received four separate teaching awards, including the distinction of being recognized as the most outstanding professor of the year on three separate occasions, including his first year of teaching.
