Worked on various projects to increase the efficacy and effectiveness of the General Accounting Office. Designed and implemented a methodology to prepare monthly financial statements for the Controller and CFO at the fund level. Established a methodology to estimated potentially unrecorded liabilities at period end using an analytical sensitivity analysis, resulted in a 92% reduction in the manual review of transactions. Prepared Accounts Payable process analysis and assisted in the design and implementation of the Robotic Process Automation (Terpbot) in our accounts payable department. Redesigned the close process for the University’s audited financial statements, and migrated the manual (excel) based process which consisted multiple unconnected spreadsheets to Workiva, a cloud based system which insured version control and linked all financial information together and resulted in a 50% reduction in the time needed to prepare the financial statements.  Integrated the IPEDS and Middle States reporting process with the Financial Statement close process on the Workiva platform to eliminate 90% of future efforts required to comply with these compliance requirements. Led team to integrate Workiva into addition productivity enhancing functions including, Sales and Use Tax reporting, Unrelated Business Income Tax and University Budgeting. Designed Capital Project Impact Model to demonstrate the impact of capital flows on the net position, Debt service to operating revenue and ratio of available resources to debt outstanding, in accord with USM policy. Developed and implemented training within the department to enhance technical skills in Workiva, Excel and data base applications.
