I enjoy working on complex environmental projects that require collaborative problem solving. Through the project-based Environmental Studies Program at Randolph-Macon College, I have had the pleasure to work on environmental projects for organizations such as the VA Department of Environmental Quality, VA Department of Wildlife Resources, James River Association, and Chesapeake Bay Foundation. I feel called to do work that promotes ecological biodiversity and health, environmental restoration and protection, and public education of the importance of our ecosystem.I have experience working on projects involving riparian buffers, living shorelines, fish passage, eutrophication, TMDLs, nutrient and E. coli source identification, fish population modeling, GIS spatial analysis, and database analysis. Through my Biology minor, I have a performed PCR analyses using eDNA for genetic analysis of invasive species and learned about the importance of biodiversity and the factors that go into healthy ecosystem dynamics. I have completed a considerate amount of field studies, biology research, data management and analysis in excel, produced written proposals, reports, and oral presentations for clients leading to changes in management and regulatory strategies and resource allocation.
