I have 41 years of experience in engineering and engineering management for commercial nuclear power, nuclear material production, and nuclear waste processing, and I have been employed with ENERCON Services, Inc. since August, 2008. I am currently a Supervisor in ENERCON's License Renewal Group. We provide the full spectrum of engineering services for operating license extension from the application process through implementation. I was previously a Mechanical Design Supervisor providing consulting services to utilities in the areas of design, analysis, and licensing support.Prior to ENERCON, Mr. was employed for 19 years by Washington (Westinghouse) Savannah River Company at the Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken, South Carolina. Worked as project engineer/lead engineer responsible for management and technical oversight of multi-discipline engineers for various projects dealing with storage, treatment, and removal of high-level radioactive waste from the underground storage tanks. Served as Plant Engineering Manager for one of the SRS Tank Farm facilities, responsible for facility/process system engineering support for high level radioactive waste storage systems. Also served as Manager and System Engineer for one of the SRS nuclear material production reactors.Prior to SRS, employed with Tennessee Valley Authority. Served as Reactor Engineer and Systems Engineer at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant. Began TVA career as a design engineer in Knoxville, TN.Professional Engineer, ME. Certified Project Management Professional (PMI, expired in 2012), Certified Professional Manager (NMA), and Certified Six Sigma Yellow Belt (Westinghouse). Mr. Hess earned his B.S., Nuclear Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology.
