I started surveying in 2003. As a Instrument man I learned how to follow instructions, take notes and use a data collector Total station to collect information. I quickly became intrigued as to what it took to lead a crew myself. After only 6 month of hard work, and lots of learning, I did just that. From there I would go on and learn how to provide construction control points for layouts, stake major subdivision plats, do topographic surveys of 100s of acres at a time. After 14 years, I decided to see what the other side of the spectrum was and take my talents inside the office. Beginning as a CAD tech learning how to play "connect the dots', so grew into being able to draw full surveys, add boundary lines and then be able to complete full topographic trees with contours labels, tree list etc. Since then I've added the challenge of being a Field Crew Coordinator to the list. Taking responsibility of 6 other crew members, making sure work is handed out each day, checked when completed, and then more work is on the schedule for the next day.
