As a lead engineer, I am responsible for the manufacturing of various gas and steam turbine components. My responsibilities include, but are not limited to: quoting, job sign offs, process layout, tool and fixture design, machine programming, quality inspections and machine scheduling. In addition to my daily activities, I have led Kaizen and process walk down events that have stream lined manufacturing processes and significantly reduced quality issues. Developed and performed detailed time studies that analyzed cycle time and tool life to increase the accuracy of production schedules. Eliminated over 150 hours of cycle time from one operation by: -Replacing obsolete HSS tooling with modern carbide inserted tooling-Implementing program techniques that utilize the technology in the modern tooling-Eliminating non-value added workExpedited the CNC programming process by:-Standardizing tooling and their location within machines for programming consistency-Set up model templates to be quickly copied and modified per order variations-Developed engineering work instructions to outsource engineering work when neededEstablished a standard quoting template that reduces engineering quotation lead time and provides consistent quotes that also account for product variables.Occasional travel to visit with vendors, spec out new equipment and qualify sub-contract vendors.

As a R&D engineer with NATVAR I was responsible for the development and manufacturing of plastic, medical grade tubing for use in various health care procedures. My daily activities included operations support, custom extrusion tool development and repair. In addition, I participated in the final stages of the company earning its ISO 9001 certification.During my time with NATVAR, I developed a custom rotary cutter that doubled the product output of a in house thermoforming machine.Attended MD&M East in New York, NY to provide engineer support while meeting with potential customers. Special projects includined the development of:-Automated machines for packaging and shipping-Real time process product measurement for OD, ID and wall thickness
