I started and led the GCP Service Extensions product. I built the team (both engineering and xFN team, across multiple sites), worked with internal stakeholders and customers to clarify product definition, oversaw definition of the technical architecture and product roadmap, and led the team in execution towards the initial launch.

In Chrome, I initiated and led a multi year effort to transform Google's ability to measure and drive improvements in the user experience of sites across the web. This included defining the core metrics used to understand user-perceived web page performance, identifying the need for / enabling development of Chrome's URL-keyed metrics infrastructure to collect real world user experience measurements from billions of Chrome users, and building large scale data processing pipelines to aggregate and understand this metrics data and make it useful in products across Google. I also co-founded and launched the Chrome User Experience Report.In Search, I led multiple cross-organizational efforts to incorporate web page user experience metrics into search ranking (mobile friendliness, page speed in ranking, core web vitals), to improve user experience across the web via ranking incentives. I served as the Google-wide expert in developing and applying Chrome user experience metrics in ranking, leading Chrome and Search teams on metric definition, implementation, aggregation, and analysis.I initiated various other efforts, such as the Chrome/Search "Scroll to text" effort, to improve the information discovery and consumption experience on the web, by making it possible to link directly to a specific passage of a web page.

I started Google's PageSpeed effort and led it for 6 years, researching and evangelizing web performance best practices and making them easily understandable via PageSpeed Insights, Google's most widely used web performance analysis tool. I built and led the engineering team, responsible for researching web performance best practices, and for developing the full PageSpeed Insights stack from frontend to backend.As an industry expert on web performance, I also presented web performance optimization best practices and research findings at industry conferences including Google I/O, O'Reilly Velocity, and Chrome Dev Summit.
