For the last six years I've been working on myself, as well as my business, I'm a early childhood trauma survivor, that six years ago put down the bottle and all the mental anguish that comes with that, I was only able to transition from victim to survivor by engaging with a trauma councillor for a year, and finding like minded people to learn from and help.This year life started throwing curveballs, like no other 27th of April my oldest friend Darren passed from complications due to his battle with alcoholism.Not long after that my partner decided that she wasnt on the same page as me and ended our relationship,no time to grieve thou as I was diagnosed with stage 3 locally advanced prostate cancer couple of weeks later....The next four to five months was a kind of hell only someone who has lived it would understand, yet when i was heading to St Georges Cancer Care in Christchurch, I started to have a change on how I view the world.I realised i was in a unique position as a manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer.With my vision forming, i donated some toys to The Canterbury West Coast Accommodation in langdons rd CHCH, this set about a series of meetings with some incredible people and I found my village, my place in the world.Im happiest most content, comfortable in my skin when my intent is pure and its about helping others, there is a whole world of my type of people out there,, for so many years I could only see what benefited me, when I looked out at what I could give, everything changed, I realised I had a lot of lived experiences trauma,alcoholism, Cancer taking my Grandad at 8 Nana at 21 then both her sons,survived Christchurch EQs, my story is of no value if I can’t help others sharing my experiences, How I managed to get to work, to reconnect to start to trust others, to become passionate the inspired !
