Oversaw OPDC's JobLinks Financial Opportunity Center, which provides employment coaching, financial capability training, and access to public benefits to hundreds of individuals seeking better opportunities and more money in their pockets each year. My team specialized in helping people with significant barriers to gain entry-level employment, often in the health care field. My scope of work included leading a staff team, program design and evaluation, fundraising and reporting, and coaching clients directly. I also assisted with strategic planning and development for the entire organization.

Led the implementation of the Community Quality Institute’s Youth Standards, a two-year benchmarking effort to implement 15 quality standards for youth-serving agencies in Western Pennsylvania, among our five program and administrative departments. Trained teachers and mentors to improve program design and evaluation in their areas. Handled all of the organization’s technological needs, oversaw marketing/public relations efforts, and managed those who coordinated the 600 annual volunteers to fuel our work.

Directed the central operations of a nonprofit community and leadership development organization as it grew quickly from a small outfit with three staff members, one building, one computer, a tiny budget, and one program, to a multifaceted, large agency with dozens of staff members on multiple teams, several buildings, a suite of computers, a $3.5 million budget, and a significant community presence. Created systems necessary to specific programs, and designed administrative structures that supported the entire organization. Managed a diverse staff team of 12 people and played key roles in program design, budgeting, and fundraising. Designed college internships for 30-50 students annually, and recruited, placed, deployed, evaluated, and monitored their success.
