I started in manufacturing as a plasma table operator over 30 years ago. Looking for a cleaner work environment led me to CNC machining where I developed a passion for creating quality parts. Through my career I developed a wide skill set on exotic metals and many types of machines. My career path eventually led me back to college where I obtained a Mechanical Engineering degree. During my time in school I bounced around many jobs due to my school schedule changing every semester. This led to me having to find new jobs when classes didn't meet my work schedule. This was a boon as I was introduced to a wide range of techniques across multiple industries and worked with many talented people picking up a wealth of knowledge. As a manufacturing engineer I was able to continue working with CNC machinists helping to reduce cycle times, design parts for manufacturability (DFM), troubleshoot problems, and doing Root Cause Analysis. I moved into managing production for an electric motor company and ran the R&D machine shop. I now have the pleasure of working with other manufacturing engineers and leading the team at Sellmark!
