Contributed to a cross-disciplinary team to re-brand smartphone and webOS pioneers Palm with a distinctive graphic palette including custom illustrations, typography and color guidelines, and photography direction.
Designer
I joined Jeremy Mende—my then graduate professor—and his team to craft experiences for a range of clients. Our award-winning SFMOMA program guide celebrates the hundredth anniversary of Futurism’s founding manifesto.
Self Employed
For a time I embraced the challenge of bidding on, managing, and designing project-based engagements for diverse industries. This was a period of rapid growth for my interaction design and business skills.
Graphic And Interaction Designer, Freelance
For four years I was a freelance designer across DWR’s e-commerce, print catalog, and studio environment teams. This range helped me to mature as a designer—growing more capable of solving complex challenges from start to finish and delivering coherent systems that work across channels.
Graphic And Interaction Designer
After presenting my senior thesis, I was recruited to work at my professor’s studio where I designed, coded, and launched Flash websites. Through this process, empathy-based interaction design became a cornerstone of my practice.
Design Intern
It is a gift to work for someone you truly admire. I learned how to continuously sustain inspiration from studio founder Amy Franceschini while producing web assets for Star Wars: Episode I.
Signage Artist
Before I learned to set column grids in Adobe software, a fellow East Bay street artist handed down this job creating in-store signage for Rasputin Records and several clothing stores that shared its owner. My “Dressing Rooms” sign on the third floor at 2350 Telegraph Avenue still hangs. It is made from hand-cut metal and it did cut my hands straight through gardening gloves while shearing the glyphs. I think of this as a seminal time in my design career.
