Online, blended, residence course instructional designer and meteorological instructor with a global reach. I have a background in meteorology (B.S. and M.S.) and 25 years of teaching experience.I have trained in multiple modalities including asynchronous, self-paced learning (including interactive, narrative content and videos), in-person residence courses, blended/flipped classrooms (with in-class polling), and virtual/online training courses (with asynchronous polling).I worked with many different Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify relevant content, write learning objectives and outcomes, create scripts/storyboards, develop interactive HTML online content, design thoughtful learning experiences, and assess student growth. During training development, I visualize meteorological data to match the training needs. This includes generating visualizations of deterministic and probabilistic NWP data, radar imagery, satellite products, METAR station observations, and more from cloud-based data resources (AWS, GCP, Azure, NCEI, CLASS) and using cloud-computing resources like Google Colab, Binder, Docker, and AWS. I am fluent in Fortran, C/C++, Python, Javascript, jQuery, D3.js, node.js, and other common programming languages.I have worked from end-to-end on training from writing proposals all the way through evaluating learning outcomes to start new training series.
