Current responsibility is leading a team of 20+ engineers and technicians developing wireless technologies across several disciplines; power supply, RF small signal, power amplifier, and digital all compiled into a software defined radio. Radio frequency ranges include: 700 MHz – 2.1 GHz. Output RF power ranges from 1W to 20W. Technologies include: GSM, CDMA, UMTS, LTE, GPS, WiFi. • Management of domestic engineering design teams which include electrical, mechanical, and software disciplines.• Technical leadership for all on going electrical issues during radio development while assessing schedule vs. risk to make proper judgments in an aggressive development schedule.• Responsible for progress summary to senior management team weekly.• Oversee the project plan vs. budget to maintain progress on all levels to maintain costs. • Main interface to factory production, system automated testing, as well as environmental test.

Frequency ranges include: DC, AC, Audio, 0.1 – 1 GHz. - Management of local and offshore design teams including hardware and software development. Offshore teams located in: China, Denmark, Germany, Poland, and Malaysia.- Technical leadership for all ongoing electrical projects.- Tracked progress of all project reviews, documenting issues, and capturing requirement changes.- Provided semi-annual progress reviews of team members based on job performance.- Managed resources on projects and future development activities to efficiently work in a lean engineering environment.- Main interface to Artesyn Embedding Technologies, a 3rd party power supply vendor; to assess technical progress compared to requirements, cost, and schedule. Management of technical progress and performance for a multiband public safety radio by overseeing engineering teams both locally and offshore. - Lead a team of 10 RF engineers developing radios from VHF to the UHF R1 bands. Work includes both small signal (VCO, PLL, 2nd LO, exciter amps) and large signal (PA designs at 55W and 100 W). Responsible to deliver all projects on time in 2 PCB passes for the projects that I own outright. For designs owned by other teams my responsibility is to deliver assigned circuit work on time and meeting specification. -Worked as the RF team lead engineer for a platform radio design covering the VHF, UHF R1, UHF R2, 7/800, and 900 MHz bands. All five bands were done in parallel during an 18 month period with my primary responsibility being testplan creation for all bands, BR and module level testing, and RF subcircuit team oversight. Overall time saved by the team was 70+ months. Subcircuit teams included local and overseas engineers. Personal design responsibility included working with FGPA SW support to create a robust DC nullying solution over all conditions. Awarded a patent pursue for work with a colleague on this work.- Worked as an architect for RX and TX small signal design in the VHF, UHF R1, and UHF R2 bands. Responsible for the architecture creation, design and testplan requirement creation, BR level testing, factory interface for the factory in Reynosa Mexico, and RF subcircuit team oversight. Subcircuit teams included local and overseas Motorola engineers.- Designed a high spec VCO for the VHF band.

Present responsibilities include senior team member on a smart phone design team that designed the Motorola Q Global for AT&T as well as the Q9h for Vodophone in the European market. Phone technologies include: WCDMA, GSM/EDGE, BT, WLAN, and GPS. My direct responsibility included ownership of the GSM/EDGE transmit and PA design, WLAN RX / Bluetooth / FM RX design, and board shepherd responsibilities. This included critical RF parameter architectural design rollup, test plan creation and execution to meet 3GPP standards as well as FCC, layout, factory interface, and peer support for less experienced engineers.Past responsibility includes system RX and TX transceiver design on software defined base station radios.

Responsible for descrete RF circuit design that included ADC, RF and IF filters, amplifiers, baseband filters, sythnesizers, mixers, and VCOs. Worked on software define radios that included modulations such as iDEN, TETRA, SAM, HPD, LSM, CQPSK, C4FM, and Analog FM.
