Epicor provides technology solutions and services to more than 4,200 small and medium-sized wholesale distributors and specialty retailers. Prophet-21, a leading enterprise software solution, utilizes a Windows-based platform and SQL Server database.Responsible for migrating client data from various legacy database systems to Epicor's SQL server-based database environment. This required interfacing with Project Managers (internal and external), setting a long-term project plan, extracting, scrubbing, testing, and importing the customer’s data, and high-level business process consulting throughout the engagement.Accomplishments:• Converted over 250 customers to Epicor ERP software. • Averaged over 25 conversions per year and generated over $375,000 in revenue per year.• Re-engineered the toolsets and streamlined the conversion process for 75% of migration accounts (converting customers from one Epicor-owned ERP to another Epicor-owned ERP).• Managed the design of a java-based tool that reduced data import time by more than 92%.• Created over 20 individual MS Access tools to scrub and test various data sets prior to import.• Documented processes and cross-trained other employees on the use of conversion toolsets.• Converted data from many different Retail and Distribution industries: Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Fasteners, Tile, Medical Products, Automotive, Sporting Goods, Office Supplies.Tools:Raw T-SQL queries, DTS/SSIS, Data Junction, MS Access, MS Excel, Microfocus COBOL.

From 1969 until 2005, Trade Power provided a software solution for the Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC distribution industries. The system operated on UNIX servers running IBM’s DB2 database. Trade Power was acquired by Epicor Solutions in 2005. At the time, the client base consisted of over 300 corporations.Responsible for the research, design, development, testing, documentation, installation, and support of various modules within Trade Power’s wholesale distribution software. This was achieved by gaining an understanding of the client’s requirements and creating detailed functional specifications to guide the programming effort. Accomplishments:• Created a complete Customer Profitability (Activity-Based Costing) module using Microsoft Access and SQL Server.• Led team of programmers in developing custom business forms output per client specifications.• Created over 15 custom, stand-alone Microsoft Access applications while acting as a consultant and developer to our client base.• Managed the creation of a GUI client-server Query-designer application (Java and DB2).• Managed the integration and deployment of the following third-party products to our client base: o An Executive Information System utilizing SQL Server and Excel. o A Document Imaging System in a client-server environment using SQL Server and DB2. o A Custom Report Writing toolset running on IBM AIX and/or Microsoft Windows PCs. o ODBC connectivity software, a product that allowed access to our legacy database (C-ISAM) from various ODBC-capable software tools for report writing and data conversion. o A laser printing module that converts ASCII output files to PCL laser documents. o A Data Warehouse/Data Mart utilizing SQL Server and OLAP methodology. Analysis tools used: Cognos PowerPlay, Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables), and Microsoft Data Analyzer.

Responsible for consulting, development, documentation, and support of custom-written reports and programs. Tools used: Microfocus COBOL, Cyberscience/Cyberquery, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel.

Responsible for training and installing new clients on Trade Power’s wholesale distribution software. Also responsible for developing stand-alone training sessions and documentation.Accomplishments:• Helped manage the installation of our wholesale distribution software at over two-dozen clients.• Installed more than 15 branches of the third-largest electrical product distributor in the U.S.• Designed a three-day training class instructing end users in the use of custom report-writing software. Developed class curriculum, written documentation, and taught the class for 3 years.• Produced more than 30 high quality, end-user manuals, and their associated on-screen help files.

Responsible for designing promotional materials (brochures, direct mail, press releases) and working with our Ad agency on print advertising. Also responsible for the development of automated sales demos and slide shows.
