I tutor for Temple University's Human Anatomy and Physiology I and II classes (KINS 1223 and KINS 1224) to Temple students athletes. I keep the tutee attentive by making each tutoring session interactive and open to any questions they have so they are comfortable asking.

Bryn Mawr College

At Alexa Cafe, I taught girls ages 10-15 basic electrical engineering concepts such as electric circuits and programming, every week for 5 weeks. The girls learned how to construct circuits using the Arduino Lilypad, a wearable microcontroller where components were wired up together using conductive thread. The girls also used the Lilypad to learn how to code and program. Combining their knowledge of of circuits and programming, they were able to make thoughtful and creative projects to take home with them as proof of their hard work over the week.My favorite part about this job was at the end of each day, I loved how all the girls told me they loved programming and how they didn't want to stop. It broke my heart each time I had to stop them and give them breaks off of the computer. In Alexa Cafe, we held daily discussions about women empowerment, self-confidence, feminism, and women leadership to educate the girls how important it is for women to be involved in STEAM and leadership. I am a strong advocate for women leadership and in STEAM because I know what it is like to be discriminated and judged by peers because of one's gender. Because of my experiences, I want to help educate young girls about feminism and empowerment so they will not have to go through what I went through.

I worked in a research team focused on nerve cell regeneration. Under the guidance of a PhD student mentor, I was tasked with programming a temperature PID control system for a freeze casting system in LabView. The freeze casting system composed of a thermocouple and a stepper motor and temperature readings from the thermocouple would control the movements of the stepper motor to maintain the desired temperature of the sample.

Clemson, South Carolina

During this 10 week REU program, I conducted research on interference-based radio frequency sensor to detect synthetic particles from dielectric changes based on the material's dielectric permittivity. The work and research I done were presented in a formal symposium and poster session for everyone.
