Graphicus Atelier is an independent gallery and print studio. My time at Graphicus was a research internship turned workshare. During my involvement, the studio specialized in non-toxic printmaking. I collaborated with owner and artist, Chayo de Chevez, in developing ways to optimize non-toxic photo intaglio processes for large format inkjet printers instead of, then required, laser printers. I taught private workshops on the developing process. I became an integral part of the facility when International Workshops in Southern India led the facility to expand initiatives to showcase under-represented and upcoming Indian artists. I built low cost modular partitions and hanging systems to isolate and redefine a division of the space as a contemporary gallery. I handled and installed the international submissions and assisted in communications and payment for sold work. I was made Co-Curator and directed a new initiative to give young regional artists early gallery opportunities. Shows featured international artists from southern India, published illustrator, Clinton D. Jones, and regional artists fresh out of art programs.
