Senior Software Consultant
CurrentTeam lead of a development scrum team that was part of a modernization effort to shift the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) DAS platform to a DevOps model and create microservices from monolithic applications. As lead, I mentored junior developers as they learned new technologies and best practices. I have supported software development projects including the microservice ICP (Integrated Care Plan) and DAS (Data Access Services) in a systems integration role and creating proof of concept systems using these development projects’ sprint iterations. I set up a RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) instance on AWS (Amazon Web Services) that is automated to pull nightly from a Git repository. The scripting then redeploys servers and services utilizing Java and Nodejs. Finally, it runs SoapUI and Fortify automated tests and emails the results to members of the team. Proof of concept efforts included increasing modularity and control by containerizing the server efforts using Docker, RedHat Openshift, and adding Jenkins to the mix. I also worked on containerization of Paladin & Archer's in-house product DeveloperLevel, using Vagrant and Docker in between VA assignments.
