Working as the OpenStack Cinder Subject Matter Expert for IBM I have actedas the liaison between the development teams for IBM's six storage drivers and thecommunity. In this position I have been selected as a Cinder Core Member, a stable maintainer team member and am acting as liaison for Cinder to the Oslodevelopment team. As the Cinder SME I lead IBM to be among the top review andcommit contributors to the Cinder project. In the time I have been working on Cinder I have become the 7th most active committer and the third most activereviewer during the project's lifespan. Additional responsibilities include educatingand mentoring IBM developers entering the OpenStack community and developmentof the processes for contributing IBM code internal and external OpenStack trees.The move to this position included a promotion to the Advisory Software Engineer level.Most recent responsibilities have included providing technical leadership in developmentof Block Storage for IBM's Public Cloud development effort. Leading design, developmentand implementation of Block Storage.In addition to my Cinder SME responsibilities I have been active in IBM's Intellectual Property development efforts. I serve on two Invention Review Boards and mentor new inventorsthrough patent 'Think' groups. I currently have 7 patents granted with the US Patent Office.

Worked as a Linux Kernel Developer for the BlueGene Kernel team. I owned the ramdisk used to bring-up the diskless I/O Nodes and developed the RHEL6based BG/Q Linux Distribution that the I/O Nodes ran upon. I also wrotethe device drivers that provide user level access to the RAS , personality andfirmware facilities of BG/Q. Additional responsibilities included givingeducational presentations on BlueGene and High Performance Computing and serving as a technical advocate for BlueGene customers

Served as the BlueGene Functional Verification Test (BG FVT) test team lead.The BG FVT test team was a new team, so responsibilities included initialbring-up of the test team, creation of the test plans, test processes and test automation. The team was expanded to include team members in India providingthe opportunity to bring-up and lead an international team. Test execution was lead on BlueGene/L and BlueGene/P software releases. Position included promotionto the Staff Software Engineer Level.

Roles included creating test automation suites for code provided by LinuxDistribution Partners, developing testing infrastructure, test plan creation,technical advisor/liaison to development teams and test execution manager.Provided networking and Linux based education to fellow teammembers. Presented at several technical conferences and meetings.Co-authored an article on Linux for eServer iSeries in a technical publication.

Worked in the Flight Management Systems department supervising the transition from VAX/VMS to a Windows NT based development platform. Developed the file organization system useage standards. Work required an understanding of security concerns and strong organizational skills. Also helped troubleshoot various NT workstation problems.

Worked in the Flight Control Systems, Autopilot Design division developing a CGI/PERL web-based, self-maintaining interface to design documents. Also programmed in Visual Basic to automate the process by which code was created from design drawings in Visio.
